Listen carefully and you can still hear the rave reviews for the winter lectures buzzing between the budding trees in Oxford. The three speakers, all members of the Museum, gave superb presentations. The in-depth knowledge of their topics impressed unusually large audiences: Larry Denton on William Henry Seward's role in the Civil War; Bob Shannahan on early mid-shore homes dating back to the late 1700s; and Rev. Jay Bunting on Tilghman's railroad to Oxford. We are indebted to the speakers for giving of their time and talents, and we are thankful to Jan Mroczek for organizing the series, her first--which set a splendid precedent. For the Denton lecture, we are grateful for collaborative support from the Historical Society of Talbot County and Oxford's Latitutde 38° restaurant, which donated a portion of the dinner tabs of those attending the lecture.
